Summer
Any of the vast amount of hiking trails around will lead you through the beautiful mountain landscape with its spectacular views of long valleys and tops of the highest Czech mountain range.
Pec pod Sněžkou is also the most convenient place to start your hike to the highest peak of the Czech republic, Sněžka (1,603.30 m above sea level)
Pec pod Sněžkou and its surroundings offer a great deal of well-marked biking routes varying from easy to hard ones. You can easily overcome the opening elevation by taking the cable car; Hnědý vrch, Portášky and Černá Hora in Janské Lázně are the places that offer this service. From June to September it is also possible to use the Krkonoše shuttle bus. For downhill biking, there is a downhill trail in Pec Pod Sněžkou where you can use the Hnědý vrch cable car that goes every 30 minutes.
Pec pod Sněžkou is a great place for families with children with its playgrounds and plenty of unique attractions such as Relaxpark with the 1st bobsleigh track in Krkonoše, Lemurie Park, Monkey Park and more.
Winter
Pec pod Sněžkou is one of the most known winter sports centres in the Czech Republic. Out of the total of 12.5 kilometres of ski slopes, 73% are equipped with snowmaking facilities. There are ski slopes with timers and a giant slalom trail; the resort includes a Funpark and a Snowpark with hurdles and jumps. Night skiing is available thanks to the lighting on Javor 1 and 2 and Zahrádky 3 slopes. Only one skipass is needed for the whole ski resort.
Pec Pod Sněžkou also provides amenities for cross-country skiing, skialpinism and winter hiking. “Krkonošská magistrála” and other cross-country skiing trails are very well maintained.
If you need to hire any kind of sports equipment, there are plenty of rentals where you can do so.
